Specific expertise of HI2's staff

The well experienced staff of the company has participated in many European, National and International Cooperation Projects, as well as on activities of DVB, ETSI, ITU-D and ITU-R, NEM, ISI, GVF, CENELEC, CEPT-ECC and is fully aware on the current trends on standardization, regulation, policy and ICT network infrastructure.
HI2’s staff is involved usually at the CETP meetings and is deeply aware of the activities of the CEPT WG FM, PT FM44, PT FM50, PT FM45, PT FM55, WG SE, PT SE19, PT SE24, PT SE40, etc.
HI2 supports the activities of the Global VSAT Forum.

Research Experience

HI2’s staff has participated in numerous research projects, both as partner and as coordinator, having conducted successful achievements in the standardization domain (DVB, ETSI, CENELEC, ITU), spectrum utilization and sharing for fixed satellite service, broadcasting services and fixed service. The HI2 staff is involved on several European, National and International Cooperation Initiatives, as well as on activities of DVB, ETSI, ITU, NEM, Networld2020, GVF, CENELEC, CEPT-ECC and is fully aware on the current trends on standardization. HI2’s staff is also involved in European Technology platforms (ETPs) since its creation, being HI2’s major expertise related to those ETPs within ICT field (Networld 2020 SME group) although having connections with other ETPs in other fields such as maritime, transport, energy, construction, etc.

Main Staff

Dr. Julián Seseña

President

Dr Julián SeseñaPh on Telecommunications by Polytechnic University of Madrid and diplomat on General Management Programme at Spanish Business Institute IESE. He has been director of Telecommunications at the Spanish Satellite Operator Hispasat, Executive Director in the North American Satellite company Teledesic, Head of Research and Technology Development Department at the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Communications. He has served as Vicechairman of the International Telecommunications Union (R sector) Study Group 4, chairman of the DVB-RC group, chairman of the ETSI SESNGSOKA group and chairman of the CENELEC TC 206. He has been contracted by the Commission regularly to participate in Evaluation of TEN-TELECOM, IST and eTEN proposals and projects Reviews as well as for the Eureka/Eurostars programme, where he has chaired the Independent Eurostars Evaluation Panel. He represented DVB in Latin America and has been expert selected by ITU-D and CAF for the development of several roadmaps for the migration to digital terrestrial television in Latin American countries. He participates regularly in the ITU and CEPT regulatory activities addressing spectrum matters. He is currently President and Senior Researcher at Holistic Innovation Institute.

Mr. David Pardo

David PardoDavid Pardo Chumillas is qualified in Marketing in Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid and MBA in ESERP, Madrid, Master in Innovation Management in the La Salle University, Madrid. MBA in International Trade in CECO (Center for Economics and Commercial). He has participated in a large number of RTDI projects.
Entrepeneur, partner of 4 ICT companies, partner of a nursery school, partner of Social Creativity Lab, partner in a company related to Tourism and partner companies from different sectors.
He is in charge of managing and administrating them. His career has headed for the search, preparation, presentation and justification of R and D projects. He has carried out different R and D projects related to agricultural, ICT training and safety sectors. He also takes part in cluster Desertic when he is responsible for searching and developing R and D national and international projects.

Mr. Francisco Pardo

Entrepeneur, partner of 4 ICT companies, partner of a nursery school, partner of Social Creativity Lab, partner in a company related to Tourism and partner companies from different sectors.
Currently, he is co-managing 2bi Smart, innovative company which manufactures the latest generation of software. He is also involved in cluster Desertic where he is working to open new markets in Latin America. Expert in opening new businesses and opportunities for our companies. Expert technological products applied to agriculture.

Mr. Ángel Bóveda

Consultant

Angel BóvedaHas a Master degree on Electrical Engineer and Computer Science (6 years) and a Master degree on Business Administration. He has 24 years of experience in the Telecom industry, from R&D to management positions.
He started his career at Alcatel R&D where he worked on microelectronics research (with many papers in the area of RFIC and III-V semiconductors), system architecture, radio technology architecture, standardization and product management. He had a relevant role in the initial development of the DECT standard. Then he joined Ericsson where he participated in the development of UMTS technology, Core Network and Service Network. In 2006 he founded Wireless Partners, a consulting company specialized on radio technologies, standardization and regulation. He has been working with ETSI near continuously during the last 7 years, being rapporteur of the majority of ETSI DECT specifications published by ETSI during this time. He has also been active in many ETSI areas, including governance, political organization, processes, regulation and EU matters. Currently (mandate 2011-2014), he is a member of the ETSI board.

Ms. Lina Klemkaite

Consultant

Sociologist, with substantial knowledge and skills in project management and evaluation; focused on growing in the field of social affairs and intercultural dialogue. PhD Candidate in Migration Studies (University of Granada), MA in Migrations, Conflicts and Social Cohesion in the Global Society (University of Deusto, Spain), Specialist in Human Rights, University-specific degree (Universidad del País Vasco, Spain) and BA in Sociology (University of Vilnius, Lithuania). Affiliated member of EUROACADEMIA, SYLFF (The Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund Program) fellow and co-author of “Local initiatives to the global financial crisis” (Deusto Digital: 2012). Experienced in preparation of project proposals and applications, quality management of the projects, research design, development of training itineraries, innovative training methodologies and new learning environments etc. Certified trainer (diversity management and social innovation related topics). Co-founder and President of DRAMBLYS: Social Creativity Lab.
